Justification

Found in lakes and rivers in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze basin in China. Populations have declined due to impacts from overfishing and a declining reproductive success rate due to dams, but it is at present assessed as Least Concern as it is widespread and the population decline is not though to meet a threatened category. Populations should be monitored, and the species should be reassessed if it is shown that the known threats are have a greater impact than currently thought.

Recorded from the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, mainland China. Found in Newshan Lake (a bay of Liangzi Lake with an area of 256 km²) and Yuli Lake.
